SMARTboard Lesson Plan: Part B

  1. Would you allow the kids to come up and drag each picture to the right column, or would you have them tell you where each picture goes?

What would you do if some of the students were unsure of which column an object belongs in? For example, they might see the globe and simply think of "earth" and might be unsure of where it belongs. Or they might see an object and simply not know what it is.

If used in a real kindergarten class, how long do you think it would take to complete this lesson? In my opinion, you could probably add another slide with more columns featuring more sounds, just in case the students fly through the first slide and want more practice.

Would they be assigned a small project to do after the lesson? For example, you could split the children up into groups and give each group a set of 3 or 4 columns with different sounds and give them objects to sort into the columns on their own.

Just some things to think about.
